ABOUT
Sterrato Brewery is a craft beer brand launched in Chiba, Japan, in collaboration with the local community. The brand focuses on “Made in Japan” craft beer, traditional wooden barrel brewing methods, and beer pairings with Japanese cuisine, especially with sushi. Additionally, the brewery is developing a guest house in the building where the brewery is located, offering both domestic and international tourists an opportunity to enjoy locally crafted beers.
The name “Sterrato,” meaning “dirt road” or “unpaved path” in Italian, evokes a sense of rustic charm and adventure. It reflects the company’s bold journey to create a new, innovative pairing between craft beer and Japanese food—offering an alternative to sake while staying true to the authenticity and tradition of Japanese craftsmanship in brewing.
Sterrato Brewery is also a registered participant in the "Furusato Nozei" program, a Japanese tax initiative that allows individuals to contribute to their hometowns or regions of choice. In exchange, donors receive partial tax deductions and often local products as a gesture of appreciation. Through this program, the brewery plays an active role in regional revitalization, enhancing both community support and cultural engagement.
